STRANGERS

Strangers’ eyes
See the strangest
Things. Because
They are
Always, again,
Children.
What they lack
In depth they will fill
With wonder,
Distance they wish
To banish with awe,
And thus they
Plunge innocent
Into the ocean
Of the unfamiliar,
Where they become
Islands.(Only the slightest retouching and modification, because I am a near ignoramus in Photoshop: one cloning here and there to remove some coconut fronds near the dead tree, black & white conversion in iPhoto, and the least use of image correction tools for a light sepia, and a little more depth and contrast.)
